PERSOALAN PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DI SEKOLAH

Based on the research by the author, a lot of mathematic teacher implement the traditional method to teach mathematic. The traditional one is a method of teaching mathematic that just use single expository method with cycle : explain, give example, take question, and give task clasical. There was many problem that appear when teacher use that’s method. They are teacher difficult to serve the needed of student in studying mathematic, teacher difficult to motivate the student to increase their study, teacher also difficult to activated the student and they also difficult to use and develop the mathematic aid.

The development of the learning method based on the Cockroft Report recomendation that said in all level of mathematic learning should be the ways for teacher to do one of the method dinamiclly and felxible : exposision method, discussion method, exsercises and task method, finding method, problem solving method and use the learning aid.

By using activity cycle diagnosis, terapeutik and repaired, the research aim to develop the mathematic learning method that fulfill the student academic needs, improve the study acive, motivate the student to be active learner, develop the learning aid, and team work. That’s research just in the teaching style that reflected by the learning models that develop in a specific class in the time that be chose.

In the aim to fulfill the academic needs, motivate the student etc, can be done by develop the student worksheet, made the study groups, develop the discussion method in class, develop the learning and education aid. By the worksheet it’s give the student opportunity to do by them self, teamwork, finding activity. Another that by that steps, teacher can develop many different activity and produce a document that usefull for student that can be use as the references.

Then, by using the discussion method student can think and find the different method, they also can do the inisasion. They also learn how to accept the other opinion and how to serve teir idea. Another taht it’s can use to deeper understanding a concept and they also can related one concept to the other one.

Then by using the learning aid its give the various activity, various method, various context and learning enviroment, and than it’s also make the concept clearer. And for the study groups, student motivated to discuss each other, give the various learning, etc. Althought there was a lot of used of the method there are also many problem that appear. But it’s just as a chalange for the teacher to do the best.
